A self-help project is underway for sub-standard condominiums in Clichy sous Bois (Paris area) with underprivileged families actively involved in improving their own home with the support of Compagnons B\u00e2tisseurs, a non-for-profit housing association<\/p>\n
These experiments include the design and implementation of energy audits; advice for repair work, taking into account the tenants financial resources and both social and technical issues to reach the objective of the restoration program<\/p>\n
2 flats are currently refurbished, hundreds of leaflets have been distributed in mailboxes, 2 technical facilitators hired for the program, with the participation of two young volunteers from Service Civique. Another partnership with Saint Gobain (leading company in ..) is finalized whereas another project with Leroy Merlin is\u00a0 under study.<\/p>\n
The Boston Consulting Group\u2019s study on the total housing cost provided interesting insights on the housing renovation issue (on the maintenance and usage expenses)<\/p>\n
