According to French National Mobility Observatory, there\u2019s an estimated 15 million people in France who face mobility issues, a major obstacle to job access and employment opportunities. A car\u2019s purchasing price and cost (Clio for example) is 4400 euros per year, a very high expense for tight budgets<\/p>\n<p>Renault Group created Mobiliz program to resolve vulnerable people\u2019s transportation issues and enable them to use and maintain their vehicle optimally through a network of \u201csolidarity garages\u201d(&#8220;Garages Solidaires&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p>Mobiliz has two different aspects :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Affordable maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Cheap cars available at a reasonable price<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Challenge<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Resolve poor people\u2019s transportation issues in order to improve their job access and employment opportunities, and help them keeping their job. Each person who registers to Mobiliz has access to repair and maintenance services with a 30% to 50% discount on the average price, but can also purchase used cars costing between 1500 and 3200 euros<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate transportation for vulnerable people and enable them to use and maintain their vehicle optimally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>A wide range of partners involved in the project<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Renault initiated several partnerships with diverse stakeholders, NGOs, social \u00a0inclusion practitioners and job counsellers to implement the program. The French NGOs Wimoov, FASTT and UDAF are responsible for \u201crecruiting\u201d customers.<\/p>\n<p>Those structures support people whose job-seeking requires a vehicle and enable employees to have their job preserved by finding adequate solutions to their transportation-related issues<\/p>\n<p>Vehicle repair and maintenance are high expenses for low income people who also have difficulties to purchase used cars at a reasonable price<\/p>\n<p>When these people need to buy a car, repair or maintain it, they are directed to a network of participants (garages owned or franchised by Renault) taking part in the scheme all over France(they volunteered to take part in the scheme) \u00a0by the program\u2019s local project partners. These garages will dedicate a portion of their time and resources to repairing damaged or broken cars for target customers at a nominal cost<\/p>\n<p>Used cars are stored in garages depending on their availability.
